Losing Weight isn’t Rocket Science
Losing weight isn’t complicated, or so the US$586.3 billion dollar weight loss industry is happy to make out! “Naturally lose stomach fat fast”…”Are you ready to lose weight and change your life forever?”…. “This programme changed my life, I did it, and it only took 4 days”… “This programme worked for me and it can for you too!” How many diet books do you think are out there? Millions! How many dieters are out there, who by the way make 4 to 5 attempts a year to get the weight off? Over 100 million and 95%. By the way I don’t think it’s any mistake that the word diet is die + a t. How many people do you know that have tried to lose weight again and again and if they do they can’t keep it off? What is the actually success rate of diets and pills? The thin evidence is less than 9%.
If the fat cat industry had the answer to losing weight, which it claims to have, then why are you still overweight? Why is it that even if you use up more energy than you take in you’re still unable to achieve your ideal weight? Why is your arse still predominately glued to the couch? Why do we have a global obesity rate that’s sky high as high as Jacks beanstalk? Why do we still continue to buy into time and time again the fairy tale gimmicks of weight loss? Magic green beans anyone?
What if fat is a symptom? An emotional symptom of fear or what if stubborn fat cells were fueled by your emotions? Bang goes all the billion dollar theories! Emotions aren’t numbers, feelings can’t be easily quantified into figures. What kind of sorcery is this? It’s hocus pocus. Or is it? Could it be that the weight on your mind and thus on your body is the weight of your own emotions? Think about it for a moment. Have you ever said, “I have a weight on my mind?” “I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders?” “My heart is heavy?” Talk about carrying excess weight!
Now that is food for thought don’t you think?
